When August 2024 monsoon floods inundated low-lying areas of Chitwan, IRDC Nepal's disaster response teams mobilised within hours. Within 48 hours, 2,800 families had received emergency shelter materials, food packages, and hygiene kits — made possible by IRDC's pre-positioned stockpiles and the community early warning system on the Rapti River corridor.
