WASH Programme (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene)

Access to clean water and adequate sanitation is a fundamental right. IRDC Nepal WASH programme works with communities, schools and local governments to ensure everyone has access to safe water and improved sanitation facilities.

Key Activities

  • Construction of gravity-fed water supply systems and deep tube wells
  • Construction of gender-segregated toilets in schools and communities
  • Open defecation free (ODF) community campaigns
  • Handwashing station installation and hygiene promotion
  • WASH in health facilities improvement

Impact

We have provided clean drinking water to over 100,000 people through more than 200 water supply projects.
